Courtney Fraser Psychotherapy

Hi there.
I'm Courtney (she/her). I enjoy collaborating with my clients and have a direct communication approach. My clients have told me they appreciate this style and my ability to relate with non-judgmental empathy. My main goal is to first and foremost get an understanding of what someone is struggling with to determine how to best assist them in their therapy process. I pride myself on my ability to meet people where they are at, build a supportive relationship, and help them work towards achieving their goals.
My therapeutic approach is integrative: my lens is client-centered, and I employ a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, internal family system (IFS), attachment theory, Imago and Gottman relationship therapies, and other strategies and modalities that fit best for each client or relationship.

I work with folx from all backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community as well as heterosexual clients. I provide therapy to couples and individuals who identify as monogamous and ethically non-monogamous, and I’m a BDSM- and kink-affirming clinician.
My Story
My therapeutic roots are in community-based mental health settings where I worked with families and children doing in-home and school-based therapy. These experiences were foundational as I learned to see every individual through a systemic lens, understanding that each of us are part of a multitude of broader systems that influence who we are and how we show up. After being in private practice for a number of years, I became frustrated that my education and training didn't offer much in the way of sex, sexuality, and sexual health. So I decided to complete a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes where I finished my AASECT coursework and created a curriculum for pelvic floor physical therapists. These combined experiences allow me to holistically treat the individuals and couples I work with.
